Welcome to You're Darn Tootin'!

The You're Darn Tootin' tent of the Sons of Desert was founded in Mobile, Alabama to share members' appreciation with the comedy genius of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The tent's meetings are held every other month at the Playhouse-in-the-Park in Mobile's Langan Park. This theatre is a terrific venue to hold our meetings as it is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and big screen projection systems. If you have never watched a Laurel and Hardy classic in a theater, come join us and enjoy the boys on the big screen while you relax in comfortable theater seating.

Our next meeting will be at 2:30 on Sunday, December 18. The first half of the show will visit Christmas Past with Our Gang in Good Cheer (1926), followed by The Boys in our perennial Christmas favorite, Big Business (1929). After a bit of holiday cheer during intermission, we'll continue with the best film The Boys ever made for a producer other than Hal Roach, The Flying Deuces (1939). It took me years to realize that the title was supposed to be a play on the old term "Flying Ace." At least I finally got it.

Playhouse-In-The-Park located directly across from the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile's Langan Park for a knee-slapping good time.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
